I went downstairs to see what Danichan was doing. He was watching the same episode of PJ masks for the umpteenth time early in the morning at 10:00!! I had pulled myself out of the bed at 8:00 in the morning after a long battle with my innate laziness and inertia. In the two hours since then I hadn't done anything worth mentioning other than replying to a few emails. I know that as a parent I should be leading by example; but I didn't want to waste an opportunity to preach on the adverse effects of excess screen time and importance of spending time productively.
Me: You can't watch TV first thing in the morning!! Too much screen time is not good for you. You will lose your eye sight and your brain will shrink!! ( PS: pearls of wisdom passed down from my Amma)
Daniel: Amma, I think we need to put you on MUTE!!
Daniel is totally contemporary in the era of Covid with virtual zoom meetings when you can easily choose what you want to listen to and multi-task your daily activities during meetings with the mute option.
