In Conversations with Danichan

 We were having fun making more quotes along the line of " If life throws lemons at you make a lemonade out of it". Danichan came up with

1. If life throws a chicken at you, get some rice and yoghurt to eat with it.

2. If life throws a  samsung-alexa fridge at you, play 2048 on it!

Daniel: Amma,  Flirting is so easy! I earned 250 extra points flirting!

Daniel likes to do Spanish Duolingo lessons on my phone and just completed a lesson on flirting ( I still don't know why they specifically have that as a session!)

We had Daniel sit on the costco cart when we went for shopping. He said " Amma, make sure that you get me out of the cart before you are done otherwise they will think that you bought me from costco and scan me to check out!"

Danichan is obsessed with numbers and maps in a way I cannot relate to. I don't think he can draw a stick figure but he loves to write numbers in sequences up to billions ( currently obsessed with the Fibonacci sequence) and to draw routes from google maps. He is currently into writing the square of all the numbers. Yesterday he told me " Amma, you need to get me another book! I want to write the square of all numbers up to infinity!".

Danichan: Amma, are you a love expert?

Me: Who is a love expert, Danicha?

Danichan: A love expert is someone who knows everything about loving.

Me ( don't exactly know what to say): Yeah, I am a love expert! Are you a love expert?

Danichan: No, I am not a love expert. I don't know everything about love. But I can plant love saplings and they grow into trees ( plants a kiss on my cheek)

Danicha, you are my precious. I love you to infinity always!

Sibling rivalry

 Daniel has not been quite happy about losing his single child status  after Emmanuel came to planet earth.

He would often have doubts about whom I love more between him and Emmanuel. We had countless conversations on the subject of love and who is more important in the family.

Daniel: Amma, Whom do you love more- me or Emmanuel?

Me: Emmanuel is my left eye and you are my right eye. Do you like your right eye more than your left eye?  

Daniel: I don't know. 

Me: Both of you are apples of my eyes.

A little while later...

Daniel:  Amma, Which eye is bigger.. your right eye or your left eye?

Daniel: How much do you love me?

Me: Love cannot be measured. I love you to infinity

Daniel: Do you love Emmanu infinity +1?

Daniel: How much do you love me?

Me: I love you as deep as the pacific ocean + up to the outer space back to the center of the earth!

Daniel (disappointed): Why only that much? I know you love Emmanu more than that.

Daniel is envious that Emmanuel gets to breast feed; but he cannot. He has often come to lie  on my lap and suck my forearm to see if he would get any milk. Before he has thoughts on sucking my nipple, I told him that the 'milk bottle' opens only for babies. Daniel was quite disappointed. He  told me that I should eat some chocolates and make some chocolate milk for him too.

As I was nursing Emmanuel I casually mentioned to Daniel that breast feeding is a language of love- (something that the Pope had recently said.) Daniel was quite upset..so does this mean that you love only Emmanuel and not me? We talked about the other languages of love from eating together as a family, reading books together etc but Daniel still wasn't happy that Emamnu gets to experience a love language that he no longer can!

Daniel can also whine about how Emmanu is more loved as he eats a variety of food and also poops more than him! We talk about how we shouldn't compare blueberries to apples and ofcourse Daniel's question is " Which fruit is better.. blueberries or apples?"
