Danichan and Emmanus- Two peas in a pod

 I often call Danichan my super baby who 'smiled before he cried' as he greeted me with the most heart warming smile as I held him in my arms for the first time (I am obviously biased as his Amma!). Unrealistically, I set the expectation that all my future babies including Emmanu would do the same! Of course, babies have a mind of their own and Murphy's law rules the universe. Emmanu was half asleep and was in no mood to pose a welcome smile. Honestly, I am grateful that he managed to cry after his arduous journey through my meconium stained amniotic fluid. Although he couldn't show me his sweet smile right away, he compensated for it in subsequent weeks with his loud squeals of laughter in sleep that would echo in our room. We would rush to his crib only to see his laughing away. These moments always filled my heart with joy. Although science regards these as gas smiles I  have an entirely different hypothesis. I believe as a baby you get to see your entire life on reel in your dreams and all those baby smiles and laughs are your happy moments in life ahead.

Emmanu- The Little Gymnast

 Dearest Emmanu,

It is fun to watch you perfecting your gymnast moves when nursing. You will lift your legs high up in the air and try to touch my nose all the while making sure that you have a great latch and strong suck! Already an awesome multitasker!:)
